Log in to TalkieLock Admin Page

Company Admin has the access to manage the device policies from the TalkieLock Admin Webpage.


1. Open the browser on your PC and go to the link: https://lock.talkielock.com/

2. Input your admin email address.

3. Check/Tick the "I'm not Robot" box, and resolve the pop-up pictures to ensure that you are human. Then click the "Continue" button.

4. Input your admin password.

5. Click the "Continue" button.




Devices

The devices section on the Dashboard gives an overview of the devices enrolled under TalkieLock. Along with this, there are certain additional features provided that facilitate admin in navigating for the enrolled devices. This guide describes all such features that the Devices section offers.


After logging in to Scalefusion, navigate to the "Devices" menu on the left panel.




Search for Devices

Admin can search devices. 


1. Click on the search icon on the top right side of the Devices page. This brings up a dialog box where you can perform a search for devices. 

2. Simply input the device name or IMEI number of the device that you like to search.

3. Click the "View Details" button for the device that you like to see the details.




Device Details

TalkieLock offers a way to see and perform device actions at a device level. That is you can view the details of each device and choose to perform some actions at the device level.


For ease of reading, this tutorial has been divided into 3 sections:

A. Device Information: This section helps you to view a snapshot of the device information and gives you an option to view Full Device Information.

B. Device View: This section gives you a snapshot of the device view, that is information on what are the policies applied and what are applications allowed.

C. Device Level Actions: A collection of operations that can be performed at a device level.



Device Information

This section introduces you to the various information that TalkieLock collects from the device.


1. Name, Device lock status, and Last Seen of the device.

2. Basic Device Information - The following important information is available:

  • Device Group Name: The group to which this device belongs.
  • Model & Firmware: The device model & firmware.
  • Battery Level: The last synced battery level.
  • OS Version: The OS version of the device.
  • IMEI Number: The IMEI number of the device.
  • Device Profile: The profile which contains the policies and configuration that is applied to the device.




Device View

In the TalkieLock Dashboard, on the Device details page, TalkiLock shows a logical snapshot of the device. There are two types of views that you can switch between, Lock View & All Apps View. Below are the details of the views.


1. The default view of the device on the details page, is what you would ideally see on the actual device. This is called the Lock View. In the Lock View, you can see all the applications that are enabled/allowed for the device. Optionally you can clik on the App icon to see the application version.




2. You can click on the "Grid" button on the device frame to switch to the All Apps View. All Apps view will show you all Apps that are installed on the device including the one that is not enabled/allowed in the lock mode.




Device Level Actions

This section gives you the details on the various device level actions that can be performed.


All of these options can be accessed by clicking on the Gear icon next to the Device in Device Information Box on the Device Details page.


1. Click the "Gear" Icon.

2. Change Device Name: You can change the device name to whatever name that you desired.

3. Full Device Information: You can see more detailed information about the device with this action.

4. Lock/Unlock: Lock means the device will enter the Kiosk Mode which is configured only to have access to the allowed Apps. Unlock means the device will exit the Kiosk Mode which the user will be able to use the device as a normal phone. Please refresh the browser after you execute either action to see if the command was executed successfully and to get the status update of the device.

5. Refresh Device: To force sync the device with the server, to get the latest update status. Note that this option works only when the device is Locked.




Device Profile

Device Profiles are a quick and easy way to group the common set of policies and then apply them to multiple devices. Changes or edits to the Device Profile are applied to all the devices without any further steps.


Enable or Disable Applications

For a corporate-owned device, it is quite important to control the set of applications that the users have access to on the devices. The Device Profile feature of TalkieLock gives you a quick way to achieve this. Moreover, you can make as many Device Profiles as you want to create different types of configurations depending upon your organization's structure.


Follow the steps below to understand how to Enable or Disable applications:

1. Navigate to Device Profile & Policies > Device Profile.

2. Click on the profile that you like to edit, then proceed to click the "Pencil" icon to edit. Note: You can create a new profile also if you would like to.

3. You will be shown a page with Select Apps as the first tab, please choose the Apps that you like to enable/disable by clicking on the toggle beside each app name.

4. Once you are sure about the selection click the Next button to brings you to the next page tab. If you are intended to edit the applications list only, please skip all the other tabs by clicking the Next button until it is changed to the Update Profile button.

5. Click the Update Profile button to apply the changes that you have made to the profile.




Applying a Device Profile

1. Navigate to Device Profile & Policies > Device Profile.

2. Click on the Device Profile that you want to apply to the device.

3. Click the "Apply" button.

4. Choose the "Devices" tab.

5. Choose the device that you like to apply the profile to by check/tick the box beside the device name.

5. Click the Apply button.




Remove Devices from Profile

1. Navigate to Device Profile & Policies > Device Profile.

2. Click on the Device Profile that you want to remove the devices from.

3. Click on the "Bin" icon. You can choose to either Remove Devices or Delete Device Profile. Note: if you delete the device profile, all the devices inside the profile will exit from the profile. Please proceed with caution.

4. Select the Remove Devices.

5. Choose the device that you like to remove by check/tick the box beside the device name.

6. Click the Remove button.




Enterprise Storage Applications

You can push an update or new application to the devices using an Apk file. Before you begin, you will have to ensure that the Enterprise Storage space is still enough to save your Apk file. For your information, by default, your account has storage space up to 100MB.



Uploading a New App

You can upload the APK file(s) of the application(s) to TalkieLock dashboard.


1. Navigate to Application Management.

2. Click the Enterprise Store section.

3. Click on Upload New App.

4. Click on Upload Android App.

5. Either Drag & Drop the APK file or Click on Browse Files and browse the file on your computer.

6. Once you upload the file, TalkieLock checks the validity of the APK file. This process will take around 3-5 minutes of time depending upon the size of the application being uploaded.



Publishing App

After you uploaded the APK file, you can publish the app to the devices. To publish/install the Enterprise Application to devices, follow these steps:


1. In the Enterprise Store, click on the app name. A panel from the right-hand side will be opened.

2. Click on Publish.

3. You will be shown a dialog with the App Information, and the list of Device Groups / Device Profiles / Device(s) where it can be Published.

4. Tick the Prefer the latest version on the device box.

5. Select the Device Groups / Device Profiles / Device(s) where you want to publish the app 

6. Click PUBLISH button.




Update Existing Enterprise App

If you want to update your Enterprise application, please follow the steps below:


1. Navigate to Application Management Enterprise Store section.

2. On the app that you want to update, click on the three dots over the app. This opens a menu. 

3. Choose Update.

4. You will be shown a dialog to Upload the New Apk. Drag & Drop the APK file or Click on Browse Files and browse the file on your computer.

5. After this step, Scalefusion verifies the new APK file and if the application verification succeeds, then you will be shown a dialog with the App Information, with the list of Device Groups / Device Profiles / Device(s) where it can be Published. Please follow the Publishing App steps to publish the update.
